John “Slick” Baum attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science with honors and a Masters of Aeronautical Science. After attending the USAF Fighter Weapons School, Slick was asked to return as an instructor.
In 2009, Slick was by name requested to join the famed USAF Thunderbirds Demonstration Team. He was then selected as an Air Force Fellow, earning a Masters in Strategic Communications from George Mason University. As a co-founder of Draken International, the company’s efforts were recognized as #18 on the Inc. 5000 list in 2018.
Today, he continues his work in aerospace as the Philanthropy Director of the Polaris Program and as a Demonstration Pilot with the Ghost Squadron. Slick knows how to prepare and perform under pressure and personifies this ethos in all he endeavors.
